Group lessons are great fun and a good way to start. They are more affordable and a good way to introduce children to an exciting music making experience. at a later stage the students can pursue their interest individually on a one to one basis. This will allow them to progress at their own pace and fulfill their full potential. Groups can range from two to six students.
Born in Lithuania, Ruta graduated from J. Naujalis Music Gymnasium in Kaunas, and later continued her Bachelor studies at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester.
Winner of numerous international awards Ruta made her debut with an orchestra at the age of 10 performing with the Tallinn Chamber Orchestra. Ruta has been awarded in ‘Evangelia Tjiarri’ (Cyprus), ‘Gradus ad Parnassum’ and ‘Olimpo Musicale’ (Lithuania), ‘Konzerteum’ (Greece), ‘Amadeus’ (Czech Republic), International Glubczyce (Poland), Agropoli (Italy) piano competitions and has given solo performances in numerous classical music festivals in Europe and the UK.
She also appeared in chamber music and interdisciplinary art projects - in 2011 toured across Lithuania with ‘Flamentango’ project exploring tango and flamenco rhythms; in 2012 worked with contemporary music ensemble ACM presenting Danish new music; created an interactive audiovisual installation for Vilnius Culture Night 2012, and a European cabaret show in FestiFai Festival in France.
After graduating from RNCM Ruta had been involved with a new music ensemble Polar Institute performing original scores of a resident composer Rob Thorpe. Polar Institute’s debut album inspired by Antarctica’s landscapes has been released in 2017.
At the moment Ruta works as a creative producer and co-founder of Europia Art Collective, inspiring cross-artform collaboration for other creatives.
Improvising at the piano is a course combining some practical keyboard harmony, a sound basis of classical musical knowledge including some elements of jazz and contemporary popular music. This course requires some piano playing skills. Complete beginners will need to allow time to develop some basic piano skills.

Theory and aural training lessons are offered either individually or in a group. They are particularly advisable for students working towards grade exams and aiming at obtaining merits and distinctions.
Students are encouraged in a friendly environment. They are entered for examinations of various boards only when they are ready. This helps build up their confidence, avoid disappointment and ensure 100% success often with merits and distinctions. For this they are encouraged to establish good practice habits and perseverence.
Those who are less able or less committed and who are happy to play for pleasure will enjoy progressing at a more relaxed pace. They will still have fun with music and be able to perform at formal and informal events.
